AI Guardrails

Rules and safeguards that keep an AI's responses safe, accurate and on-policy.

Glossary/AI Guardrails

AI guardrails are the constraints that keep an AI agent from going off the rails — staying on approved topics, refusing to invent facts, avoiding unsafe or off-brand responses, and escalating to a human when appropriate.

In support, the most important guardrail is grounding: answering only from your approved knowledge with citations, and declining when there's no supported answer. That's how BotIQ avoids hallucinations and stays on-policy.
