Glossary/Support Ticket
A support ticket is the unit of work in traditional helpdesks: a request captured as a trackable item that can be assigned, prioritised, tracked against SLAs and resolved. It ensures nothing falls through the cracks.
Modern, conversational support often thinks in terms of conversations rather than rigid tickets, and uses AI to resolve many requests before they ever become a ticket — but the underlying goal, accountable resolution, is the same.
